PGY-3 : Obstetrics/Gynecology (6 Weeks) The OB/GYN service is made up of four residents per month. Faculty family physicians and OB/GYN specialists provide attending coverage. The service provides opportunity for C-section depending on resident interest. There are five busy OB/GYN clinics per week. Residents average about 25 deliveries per month rotation, or about 120 deliveries during the course of their residency, depending upon how the resident structures their R3 year. Call is weighted in the PGY-1 year with 12-hour shifts 5 days/week, and one 24-hour. Residents are trained in Colposcopy and other outpatient GYN by skilled faculty, and it is a regular part of the specialty clinic training and obstetrics and gynecology. We anticipate that residents will do about 25 colposcopies before graduation. |
